Leave room for the street sweeper
Alvin’s Street Division maintains a sweeping schedule for curb-and-gutter streets and asks residents to avoid parking there during sweeping hours whenever possible. Check the linked schedule against your proposed loading day, then arrange helper parking and vehicle staging with the property manager. This is practical coordination guidance, not a reservation of the curb; posted restrictions and the space needed for other road users still apply.

Know which drainage concern goes where
Alvin distinguishes its street and property drainage ditches and pipes from the major systems maintained by Brazoria County Conservation and Reclamation District Number 3. The city directs larger-ditch concerns to the district and localized property concerns to Public Services. Before a wet-weather move, identify any problem along the carrying path and keep bins away from drainage openings. A maintenance contact does not establish that flooded access is safe.

Check the exact street segment
Alvin’s Street Maintenance Program links pavement inventories and a street-conversion schedule, including Steele Road between N. Gordon Street and Bypass 35. If that segment is on your approach, check the latest update and confirm which entrance your vehicle should use with the property manager. A pavement assessment or planned project is not a live closure report; inspect posted signs and recheck access before departure.
