Check ferry traffic near the waterfront
WSDOT's Edmonds terminal page provides loading cameras and vehicle-holding information; it warns that the space count excludes vehicles waiting outside the tollbooths. For a waterfront move, we recommend checking the cameras as well as your street route. If taking the ferry, follow the terminal's official approach directions rather than improvising from a nearby side street.

Use the correct downtown parking map
Edmonds provides separate employee and residential or visitor parking maps, while some downtown lots are privately operated. We recommend checking the map and posted signs for helpers' cars, then arranging the moving vehicle's loading space separately with the property. A resident or visitor parking permit should not be assumed to reserve a curb for unloading.

Ask before placing items outside
Edmonds publishes Street Use permit guidance for temporary objects in public space, including the sidewalk and parking strip. If your move involves a storage container or another object outside private property, ask the Engineering Division which approval applies. We recommend agreeing on a clear indoor staging area for packed boxes and preserving the pedestrian route.
