Check where private property starts
Sammamish explains that public right-of-way can extend into areas that look like private driveways or landscaping. Its Type A permit category includes portable storage containers in that space. If your move involves a container or other obstruction, ask Public Works about your specific location. We recommend keeping ordinary packed boxes in an agreed indoor staging area.

Leave room around the driveway
Sammamish's parking guidance identifies required clearances around driveways, hydrants and intersections, and prohibits parking on sidewalks. We recommend checking the whole vehicle's position before unloading starts, including any ramp. Let helpers know where their cars should go so the moving vehicle, pedestrians and neighboring driveways can all retain the access they need.

Use Cone Zone for roadwork changes
Sammamish's Cone Zone publishes roadwork locations and traffic impacts, including links to relevant detour information. Check the latest update for roads on your route, such as 228th Avenue or East Lake Sammamish Parkway, rather than relying on a past closure notice. We recommend sharing any changed approach before the driver commits to the final turn.
